"Stoneware and White Stoneware are the two clays I use in the making of the pottery. After glazing they are reduction fired to a temperature around 2300 degrees Farenheit referred to as cone 9-10. There is no lead used and with the exception of ceramics with lustre, they are dishwasher safe. Occasionally I let beauty beat out practicality.
Although much of the work is conceived as production pottery the results are sometimes more like one-of-a-kind because there are no molds or devices used to make the work. Everything is either thrown on the wheel, altered, or slab constructed. The pottery, therefore, will not be exact replicas of one another. Glaze results will also vary." Allan Buitekant
